Ali Can Yurdakul
President
Alican grew up in a Muslim family and was encouraged at a very young age to explore the Divine (path) through all religions. Through a quest of studies, career and family obligations, he “came home” to Sufism of Hazrat Inayat Khan starting in 2012. Alican feels at home in the various Sufi families and holds various roles in some Sufi organizations in the Netherlands.
In his working life, Alican has worked as a business administrator in ICT business operations, both operational, commercial and managerial. He is currently self-employed doing interim management work.
Teguh Ayaz Sugihartono
Treasurer
Ayaz was born and raised in a Muslim family. From an early age, Ayaz has been interested in spirituality. Ayaz has mathematical background and came to the Netherlands in 2002 to do a master’s degree in Econometrics. Ayaz is an actuary by profession and he has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, especially insurance. Starting in 2008, Ayaz learned Sufism from Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Safiye v. Goens Youskine
Secretary
Safiye is on her father’s side a descendant of Indian mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan. Raised in his family tradition, she carried Sufism with her from an early age. In particular, she has a keen interest in the classical Sufi music of Shaikh-ul- Mashaik Maheboob Khan. Within current Sufi organizations, she holds various positions at home and abroad.
In her working life, Safiye has successively worked as a corporate lawyer, appellate lawyer and various management positions within education. Currently, she is still working within higher education.
Jos van den Heuvel
Board Member
Jos, some 20 years ago after a long search for him appropriate spiritual depth, came in contact with the Sufism of Hazrat Inayat Khan. After a short period of reflection, he decided he wanted to be further involved. It greatly enriched his life. In addition to his own personal spiritual development, he has worked for Sufism administratively in many ways, nationally and internationally.
In his professional life, van den Heuvel has worked in public health care and then specifically in the education of health care providers, the (international) recognition and regulation of professional qualifications and workforce planning. He retired about 15 years ago, but has since been involved in the Dutch Care Authority and health care to inmates.
